With four contrasting shows each week, the festival promises an eclectic mix of free outdoor performances against the stunning backdrop of Cabinteely House.

14.00 ST PATRICK’S DRAMATIC SOCIETY, DALKEY presents A SKETCH IN TIME
Directed by William Mansfield
A hilarious series of comedy sketches to start the fourth Centre Stage Festival. In previous years the group has given us comic plays from Ireland and abroad. Now they bring something different to divert the Cabinteely Park audience with a varied selection of short sketches and monologues.
15.00 THE KETONES present CLOSE HARMONY HITS
This classically-trained all-male group of singers provides a varied programme – Barbershop Quartets, Irish traditional songs and close-harmony arrangements of popular favourites which will be familiar to all.
16.00 GLENCULLEN MUSICAL AND DRAMATIC SOCIETY presents SUPERFLUOUS HAIR
by Philip Callan, directed by Liam Corrigan.
The comic story of two middle-aged brothers. Michael has no interest in marriage but Peter has waited for ten long years for the return from America of his old sweetheart Maryellen. His only worry – he has lost all his hair in the meantime. Will she, can she, love a bald man?
5pm: AIB CHORAL SOCIETY presents ALL THAT JAZZ

From the prairies of Oklahoma to the races at Ascot via a jailhouse in Chicago – fresh from their awardwinning performances at the 2009 Feis Ceoil, the AIB Choral Society presents songs from your favourite shows to enjoy on a Summer afternoon.

13.00 DALKEY PLAYERS presents WOMEN IN ARMS
by Mary Elizabeth Burke-Kennedy, directed by Norman McCausland
Stories from ancient Irish mythology. Characters include Cuchullain, Conor Mac Nessa, the Red Branch Knights and, of course, the famous Bull of Cooley that caused all the trouble. But it is Deirdre and Maeve,among other warrior queens, who loom largest in this exciting saga.
15.00 CANTAIRI (fada on last I) AVONDALE presents CHORAL FAVOURITES
A 40-strong mixed-voice chamber choir, Cantairí Avondale were founded by the legendary Seán Creamer in 1970. Now under the music direction of Ruaidhrí O (fada) Dálaigh they will sing a selection of close-harmony music from Mozart to the golden age of song with works by Cole Porter, George Gershwin and other composers of that era.
16.00 BALALLY PLAYERS presents A scene from HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES
by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Karen Carleton
With this, his best-loved comedy, Ayckbourn has written an ingenious funny play which contrasts the lives and loves, the passion and panic, of three very different married couples. We, the audience, eavesdrop on two disastrous – but hilarious – dinner parties.
17.00 DUN LAOGHAIRE MUSICAL AND DRAMATIC SOCIETY presents SWING A MERRY MUSICAL
Music Director – Des Cox
A popular and tuneful selection of songs, choruses and showstoppers, ideal for a Summer afternoon. Scenes from musicals old and new – including Once Upon A Mattress – will get you larking in the park. A lively finish to this year’s Centre Stage Festival of drama and music.
