Phoenix Festival
Tullamore Phoenix Festival is an action packed programme of extreme, arts, music, cultural and heritage experiences in a colourful festival atmosphere. Events include hot air balloons, parachutists, live music, bungee jumps, street entertainment and a sizzling fire parade on the Sunday night, which culminates in a spectular fireworks display over the skies of Tullamore. Other family events which keep the family entertained over the weekend are street art, canal barges, canoe trips and children’s storytelling. Magicians, puppet shows, face painting and a funfair complete the line up for this unmissable festival
Attracting a record number of visitors over the four days of the festival Tullamore Phoenix Festival in 2008 they hope this year will be bigger and better with something for everyone in the action packed programme of quality events.
Tullamore Phoenix Festival Childrens Entertainment
The Streets of Tullamore come alive each year during the festival weekend with an extensive selection of street entertainers performing around the town.
Carnival Rides & Games provided by McFadden’s Fun Fair, all weekend in Market Square.
Fun and frolics in Lloyd’s Town Park with hot air balloons, skating jam, playground and bowls.

A lively and active storytelling session for children age 4-8. Songs and
animal tales, wild adventures and stormy nights populate this hour of
entertainment with renowned Galway teller Clare Muireann Murphy.
- 14.00 – 15.00 Storyteller Ages 8-12
An adventurous hour of tales from around the world for 8-12 year olds;
Warriors and witches, wild animals and epic journeys fill this hour of
fabulous tales.

Phoenix Festival Workshops
Ceramics Workshop
Relax and enjoy a creative day with lots of fun with clay making wonderful creations. To attend this workshop, all you need to do is fill out the Registration Form and wear old clothes for the classes

Graffiti Workshop At The Phoenix Festival
Discover the hitory of graffiti, learn with drawing outlines, various nozzles, varying designs, at the same time creating a Masterpiece for exhibition in selected locations in Tullamore. Talented graffiti artists will guide you through this group mural work.

Phoenix Festival Other Events
Phoenix Festival Fireworks Display
Once the live bands finish on the main stage, a flaming FIRE procession will take the crowds from O’Connor Square to Srah, where you will find the ideal viewing location to see the spectacular fireworks display.
The fabulous fireworks display takes place on Sunday night Srah Castle – 22.45 – 23:00 ( This display is a bit late for the younger children)
Skate Jam
Join Hundreds of Irelands best skaters will take part in the town park for the Phoenix Skate Jam Championships.
Saturday 18 July at 11.00 – 18.00. Entry Fee €10. Phoenix Trophy, Cash Prizes, Skate Gear, goodies, hoodies and t-shirts to be won again this year.
Hot Air Balloons
Balloonists from all over Ireland and the UK gather in Tullamore during Phoenix week and each morning and evening, eagerly watch the skies for the ideal moment to take flight.
Few experiences can match the thrill and majesty of floating silently over the countryside and an experience of a lifetime that should not be missed.
Phoenix Market
There will be an exciting colourful mix of food, clothes, jewelry and craft in the indoor Phoenix Market in old Quinnsworth Shopping Centre in Texas Car Parkon Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July.
Barge Trips
Experience the relaxing atmosphere and surroundings of the Grand Canal at a leisurely pace by boarding one of our two barges taking trips up and down the canal.
The two Canal Barges journeying along the Grand Canal in Tullamore from the Bury Quay Jetty – beside the Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre to the Harbour.
