The Eye Cinema Galway
In its architecture and design the Eye Cinema is a living canvas at one of the most prominent sites in the city, the traditional cinema experience is turned back-to-front with a 100 metre curved glass wall ensures complete transparency – breaking the mould for conventional cinema design, the drama of the building is exposed day and night and Eye Cinema offers vibrant and innovative civic spaces to the public.
At its core Eye Cinema remains committed to offering a cinema experience that is second-to-none, you can watch the latest, biggest block buster first run movies for all tastes, children, families, teenagers, young adults and students.
The Eye Cinema is amongst the most advanced cinemas in Ireland offering almost 1200 stadium planned seats across nine cinema screens, each with Dolby Digital EX full surround sound and Widescreen and Cinemascope picture. For those who want more than a seat at the cinema the Eye has one luxury screen for those special moments.
All screens are wheelchair accessible and each screen has an allotted amount of wheelchair space.
The Eye Cinema has an Infrared system, onscreen subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired, and audio-description (via the infra-red headsets) for the visually impaired. Please check with The Eye Cinema each week for the showings which provide these facilities.
The Eye Cinema has free parking as well as cafes, Pepsi and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlour within its public spaces.

Arthouse Films At The Eye
The Eye "Art House Screen" presents first run – non-mainstream – as well as cult and classic foreign and Irish films.
International award winning films from different parts of the globe are among the movies you can expect to see.
As part of the Art House Screen film planning special film seasons dedicated to award winning directors and producers, actors and actresses will be offered.
Please note that Eye Cinema Film Club membership is required for certain films screened in the Eye Cinema. These are films that have not been submitted to the national censor and therefore do not have a censor’s certification in Ireland. Membership is available to anyone over the age of 18.
