Causey Farm in Meath is a fun based activity venue with a variety of activity programmes for both children and adults throughout the year, as well as hosting seasonal events

Causey Farm  provide interactive cultural experiences in a friendly atmosphere , as well as fantastic seasonal events for families. They also cater for school tours.

Their educational programs have an interactive, ‘Hands-On’ focus and visitors get to participate in all activities.You will also learn about live Irish culture in a fun-filled day of Irish activities. School Tours At Causey Farm

The Murtagh family run Causey Farm and several years ago, a few local schools began to visit the farm to celebrate ‘Urban-Rural Week’. They  enjoyed it so much that they have worked out a great way to keep the fun going all year round. So, over time, what started as children’s entertainment has grown into a year-round flow of willing young and not-so-young farm-hands. They have set a fun program for your school trip to the farm. They provide a completely safe environment with experienced staff where children can thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Primary Schools

Causey has built a wonderful reputation as one of Ireland’s most popular primary school tour venues. All of the activities are tailored to suit the age group of the students from junior infants right through to sixth class. Theyhey many indoor venues so they can ensure a successful day regardless of the elements. Their programme lasts for 3 ½ hours including lunch.

Family Fun Tip:– Children  should wear their oldest clothes and shoes (wellies if possible). They should also bring a change of clothes, a towel and plastic bag for bringing home dirty clothes.

Secondary Schools

In the last year Causey Farm had over 2,000 Irish teenagers got back to their roots and they have a brilliant programme for team-bonding and fun, and is suitable for all secondary school classes. The kids really love getting down to basics, eating their own home-made bread after a busy day on the farm and bog. The programme lasts for 4 hours and includes:

Causey Summer Camps

4 days of magical experiences based in the Causey farmyard located on the edge of boglands and forests where children can explore a wonderful natural land. Summer Campers have endless opportunities to look, listen, touch and learn. Their Summer Camp is tailored for children between the ages of 5 and 13 years.

Causey Farm Safety

They provide a safe environment with experienced staff where children can thoroughly enjoy themselves. All their activities have been designed with safety in mind and they have a registered nurse on their  team. All walks, workshops and games are closely supervised

Direction To Causey Farm Meath

Causey Farm is located mid-way between the towns of Kells and Athboy in County Meath, between the N51 and the N52. We are just 40 miles from Dublin, 20 miles from Newgrange and 14 miles from the Hill of Tara, seat of the ancient High Kings of Ireland.

By Car

From Dublin

  • From Dublin take the M3 (Navan/Cavan Motorway) until you come Exit 9 Navan North/Delvin.
  • Take this exit and travel in the direction of Athboy / Delvin.
  • After six miles you will come to a T-junction
  •  Turn right towards Kells.
  •  After 2.5 miles, you will come to the village of Fordstown.
  •  Take the left turn just after the shop.
  • Causey is a mile down on the left hand side, past Grove Gardens and past Girley Church

From Mullingar

  • From Mullingar take the N52 and drive through Delvin and Clonmellon and on towards Kells. (The N52 turns right when you come into the village of Clonmellon).
  • After you leave Clonmellon travel for about 2 and a half miles and take the second right turn from the village. It is at a crossroads.
  • Follow the road and you will soon come to a T-junction.
  • Turn left and continue straight past the gates of Drewstown House for about two miles. (The road to Athboy turns right at these gates but you go straight ahead).
  • The farm houseis the first past the hall – a stone house on the right hand side as you go up a hill.

Lough Crew

  • From Lough Crew – from the car park in Lough Crew take the route that descends to the main road.
  • Turn left when you reach the main road and travel for a few miles until you see a sign for Boyne Drive which points to the right.
  • Take this turn to the right (it also points towards Athboy) and continue until you come to the village of Crossakiel.
  • You will reach a T-junction at which you turn right and then take an immediate left.
  • Keep driving and you will pass through the village of Kilskyre (long yellow wall at football pitch on RHS).
  • A couple of miles past Kilskyre you will come to a large (largish) road – the N52.
  • Cross the N52 and follow the road and you will soon come to a T-junction.
  • Turn left and continue straight past the gates of Drewstown House for about two miles. (The road to Athboy turns right at these gates but you go straight ahead).
  • The farm house is the first past Girley Hall and the two facing graveyards – a stone house on the right hand side – as you go up a hill.
