Brennanstown Riding School is a family run business who set out to make horse riding a safe and enjoyable experience for you and your family. Brennanstown is a training centre for the world recognised British Horse Society qualifications and is also one of only a handful of Irish centres approved to hold BHS examinations up to a Stage IV and Intermediate Teaching Level (BHSII) so is perfect for those of you who are interested in pursuing your interest of horses and horse riding to the full.
All of the Instructors at the Brennanstown Riding School are BHS qualified and the school is approved by the British Horse Society and the Association of Irish Riding Establishments.
With all this in mind, Brennanstown is ideal whether you are looking to try horse riding for the first time, have regular lessons, go trekking, have a birthday party with the riding school as your party venue or find a home for your own horse.
Facilities At Brennanstown
Brennanstown Riding School is proud to boast its first class facilities which include an indoor and a larger outdoor riding arena, three outdoor sand arenas, a cross country course and access to some fantastic trekking sites. They have over fifty stables, lecture facilities to teach you all about horses, riding and horse management and care and a coffee bar for your refreshment needs.
Brennanstown Riding Lessons
All lessons that are undertaken in Brennanstown Riding School are with instructors who are qualified by the British Horse Society. The lessons are available for anyone over the age of six.
There are a number of different options available for those wishing to take lessons. Brennanstown offer private and semi private (usually groups or two or three people at a time) lessons but only at off peak times. They also offer lessons at peak times (Saturdays and evenings) for the term. The term lasts either six or ten weeks at a time and students must be willing to commit to the full programme.
There is an option for stronger, more experienced riders to take lessons at off peak times (Tuesday to Friday, 10.30 – 16.30) and there is no need to commit to a full term in this case.
Brennanstown Riding School provide kids camps during various holidays, stable management lesson for adults and British Horse Society exam preparation lessons.
Cross Country Rides And Treks
Brennanstown are in an ideal location to offer you scenic cross country rides and treks. The rides take place on their own land as well as into surrounding forests and fields, including the Little Sugar Loaf mountain. There are rides and treks suitable for those who have never been on a horse before and it is an exciting way to be introduced to the world of horse riding.
Kids Camps
Children’s Camps are run at Brennanstown at various school holidays throughout the year, including over the summer holidays. There are numerous camps and most last three days.
Throughout the day children will enjoy two hours of riding in addition to two hours of looking after ponies and learning how to properly care for horses. Most camps are aimed at children who have a limited or no knowledge of horses and horse riding but they do have some camps and courses for more advanced children.
Birthday Parties And Groups
Brennanstown Riding School is always happy to cater for groups, which includes welcoming your birthday party. If you are booking for a group they do insist on a minimum of six riders and a maximum of 15. If you wish to have more than 15 riders then you must contact Brennanstown Riding School and arrange this in advance.
School Groups
Brennanstown Riding School provides riding lessons to quite a few schools in the South Dublin and Wicklow area. The lessons are arranged through the schools and cater for students at a beginner level to advanced. The lessons are full of education, learning news skills but always incorporate and instil the element of fun.
Students take the Association of Irish Riding Establishments exams at the end of the school year and they also have an opportunity to compete in an annual interschool’s competition.

They are readily accessible by public transport either using Dublin Bus with the 145, 45a and 84x.
