Switching on O’Connell Street Christmas Tree Lights
A fun event for all the family – not to be missed!
O Connell Street will glow this year with a new state of the art Christmas tree which will be illuminated by the Mayor Críona Dhálaigh who will be joined by the No 1 Army Band to see the streets of the capital transformed into a winter wonderland with it’s glistening LED Winter street lights
This is a free event with family entertainment for all, including live music, carol singing and much more!
Make sure to get there early, and remember to wrap up warm so you can enjoy the wonderful Christmas atmosphere. Switching on the Christmas tree lights in O’ Connell Street has been an integral part of Christmas in Dublin for many years, and is one of the city’s landmark events in the run up to Christmas.
Lots of Christmas fun is planned for the day that is guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained
The event will culminate with the Lord Mayor pulling the switch at 6.00pm followed by some seasonal carol singing.
Switching on – Smithfield Christmas Tree
Free open-air Concert at Smithfield Square to light the Smithfield Christmas Tree!
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Smithfield Square . This free, family friendly event will feature acoustic performances from legendary Singer Songwriter Paddy Casey, popular Dublin band O.R.B, upcoming Irish act The Geddes and more. There will also be a very special visit by Scruffy The Reindeer all the way from the North pole!
Switching on Grafton Street Christmas
Experience the magic of Christmas with the Grafton Street lighting ceremony.
There will be free family entertainment starting at 4pm and then you’ll join a special guest turn on the Christmas lights.
