Since 1989, Euro Languages College (ELC) are renowned for their excellence in providing French, German, and Spanish residential summer language courses, with full immersion for Irish teenagers (age 13 to 19) in the target language in several leading Irish boarding schools.
Euro Languages College offers courses for students in both the Junior and Senior Cycles, with original course programmes designed by a team of experienced secondary school teachers from across Ireland.
The students receive over 40 hours of classroom style tuition during the course, which adds up to about half an academic year, while enjoying all fun filled activities spoken in the target language.
They also have native French, German and Spanish speaking staff who provide an essential linguistic and cultural dimension to the courses.
The language courses take place in carefully selected boarding schools with spacious grounds and a variety of sporting facilities.
French, German and Spanish Residential Summer Courses
Euro Languages College’s residential language courses take place in various boarding schools around Ireland. It is their aim to provide an educational environment where students learn and enjoy themselves simultaneously.
Their courses are so structured and so well planned that nothing is left to chance. Supervision is provided at all times including class, activities, meal time and in the dormitories. Language learning on the course is not just confined to the classroom, but involves a variety of cultural, sporting and other recreational activities. A key objective is to lower anxiety so that students learn in a relaxed and informal way and experience a French, German or Spanish speaking environment every day.
Key Features –
• Students live in a boarding school for period of 18 days.
• Classes take place 6 days a week from 9.30am to 1.00pm.
• Students cover the topics for Junior Cycle / Leaving Cert.
• There is a wide choice of activities in the afternoons and evenings.
• Students are expected to communicate in the target language at all times.
