Family Theatre At Draiocht Events
Since 2001 Draiocht has reached right to the heart of the people it serves in Blanchardstown Dublin 15 and its environs to provide stimulating and accessible arts programming. Over 500,000 people have attended theatre events including professional national and international work, local community drama, and children’s theatre and pantomime. In addition, thousands more have attended our two exhibition galleries, used our conference facilities.
In Draiocht they aspire to reaching as wide an audience as possible and their commitment to access for all to the facilities and activities of the Centre forms the backbone of all their endeavours. By presenting an exciting line-up they hope to offer you, there audience, a programme which will be entertaining and exciting as well as at times challenging and provocative.

The First Tuesday of Every Month
Join early year’s artist Orla Kelly in an exciting, fun, curious environment, aimed at supporting parents to get creative with their children. These sessions will be unthemed allowing parents and children to work spontaneously with the materials provided. This hour offers a creative and artistic expertise to support parents in encouraging the creative growth of their children.
Time 10:30am – 11:30am
Classification :- Family activities / For children aged 2 -3 years
Booking for each session opens 2 weeks before session date.
Please respect age limits.
These sessions are designed for parent and child, so child must be accompanied at all times

Join Moya Brennan, the voice of Clannad, and celebrated harper Cormac De Barra on a magical musical journey for everyone aged 4 to 104. Bringing together traditional Irish music and original music by Moya Brennan, this gorgeous performance for families is inspired by the legend of Brian Boru’s harp and celebrates 1,000 years since the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.

More Create Dance
These innovative workshops with dancers Mark Rogers and Philippa Donnollan are designed for children who love to dance and also happen to have an intellectual disability, their parents and siblings of a similar age. During each of these engaging workshops they will experiment with dance in a fun and creative environment. Places are free, but limited and must be booked in advance

Jack and the Beanstalk
Fee Fi Fo Fum! It’s a giant of a show, we’d love you to come! This classic fairytale now gets the Lyngo treatment so expect lots of surprises, a gripping story and beautiful images as Jack sells his cow for 5 magic beans and finds himself in the land above the clouds. It’s a show for the over 3’s (and their giants) with something for everyone – enormous shoes, tiny houses, showers of silver and gold and a big, leafy explosion!

Group Bookings at Draiocht Family Theatre
Buy 10 tickets and get your 10th ticket free (so only pay for 9 tickets). This offer applies to tickets purchased at the full price or concession price only and is not available in conjunction with any other offer.
Group/School bookings of 10 or more can be held on reservation for up to 7 days. Within this time full payment or a 25% deposit must be received otherwise the tickets will be released and re-sold. The number of tickets on reservation can be changed up to 7 days proir to the performance, subject to availability. Any balance due must be settled 7 days prior to the performance.

Spréacha – Fingal’s International Arts Festival for Children
A six day festival of magical performances, puppetry, storytelling and visual art for children aged 0-12 years.
Spréacha, meaning ‘Sparkling’, is Draíocht’s annual week long international children’s festival, held in partnership with Fingal County Council. The Festival was first launched in 2004. Theatre shows for children aged 0-12 years are programmed during and outside school time so school groups and families can enjoy a range of magical performances together, from puppetry to storytelling and music to circus.
