Its Halloween Family Fun time again in Castlecomer Discovery Park, Kilkenny with plenty of fun events to keep everyone amused.
The Zip Of Terror
The Zip of Terror is back! ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH?
In the forest dark and deep, poltergeists and puca awake from their sleep. Are you brave enough to zip through the night sky before wandering through a forest full of frights? Only the bravest will survive. This is a truly terrifying experience, you have been warned!
Who knows what lurks in the forest? But you have to get down Ireland’s longest zipwire in the dark first! Once you arrive here, you will board the Halloween train, which will take you to the zipline. It’s pretty dark, and an experienced team of undertakers are ready to harness you up before you jump into the dark abyss. Will you make it to the end? If you do, you will then have to take the terrifying journey through the haunted forest, you never know what might pop up.
This event takes about 90 minutes depending on how fast you need to run!
This event is for 12+ (all under 16’s must be accompanied by a parent)

Fruits of the Forest Family Foraging Event
All of us remember picking blackberries along the hedgerows as children, but the forest has so much more to offer! Therefore Savour Kilkenny are holding a family foraging day. This event is suitable for adults and children 5+
Spend time exploring the woodlands of Castlecomer Discovery Park, foraging for wild food and learning to identify plants. Search for edible fungi, fruits, nuts, and berries, and learn how to make yummy dishes using all that you have found.
Trained guides from Blackstairs Eco trails will take you on an edible odyssey. Tips, recipes and information sheets are provided and you can take home everything that you find and cook-up! Isnt that Great?

BBQ IN THE Woods
With all this activity, you cant help but get very hungry.
Make the most of the October Bank Holiday Monday and head to Castlecomer Discovery Park for a BBQ Bash for all the family. Enjoy the afternoon and head outdoors for family entertainment with fun activities for the kids and a tasty BBQ in beautiful natural woodlands. The kids can explore the magical fairy village while enjoying the best of Irish produce, delicious burgers with an assortment of salads.

Adventure Activities
Activities are scheduled to open daily 12pm-4pm (weather-permitting). This includes Ireland’s longest over-water twin ziplines, Octagon High Ropes Course, Tree-Top Adventure Walk, Climbing Wall, Leap of Faith and Junior Woodland Adventure Course.
