Phoenix Park Visitor Centre

Phoenix Park Visitor Centre Dublin is a lively and entertaining exhibition on the history of the park from 3500 B.C. to the present day and view an audio-visual presentation on the Phoenix Park through the ages and also the wildlife of the Phoenix Park is on display all in the new Visitor Centre.

There is a fine big new playground located west of the Victorian Walled Garden at the Visitor Centre. The imaginative themed design of this playground is bright and attractive with a great variety of play units, including provision for children with disabilities. The playground is suitable for children from 4 to 12 years old.  All Children must be accompanied by an adult and all adults must be accompanied by a child.

Adjoining the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre is the fully restored Ashtown Castle, a medieval tower house that probably dates from the 17th century. There is also a restaurant in the grounds of the Visitor Centre. The Centre is sign-posted from the Phoenix Monument.

The Phoenix Cafe is located in the grounds of the Visitor’s Centre adjoining The Walled Garden and Ashtown Castle.  The cafe serves a wide range of hearty quiches, soups, salads and homemade cakes.  Everything is prepared freshly and is mostly organic. There is a daily special and a range of toasted foccacia, panini and wraps with intensity fillings.

 

Phoenix Park Visitor Centre Opening Times

Please note that the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays from January to end of April each year.

Outside of these months, the opening times are from 9.30am to 6.00pm each day. Last admission 45 minutes before closing. Admission is Free.

 Take the feeder bus no 90 from Connolly or Tara Street Dart Stations.
  • Luas
Take the Red Line to Hueston Station. The zoo is a 15 minute walk or hop on the Phoenix Park Shuttle from Park Gate Street (beside Hueston Station).
There is a shuttle bus operates 7 days a week – Weekdays 7.00 –19.00, Weekends and Public Holidays 10.00 – 19.00 and takes  a circular route inside the park, stopping at Dublin Zoo, the Visitor Centre, the Papal Cross and Farmleigh.
