Rathwood Express Train
Rathwood Express Train is the perfect activity for all ages both young and old. Running every weekend at 3pm
The train runs through the woods and around our Animal Park so everyone gets a chance to see our ducks, geese and deer.
You’ll even have an opportunity to feed the ducks and geese!

Rathwood Maze
Go from Donegal to Cork in under an hour with the Maze of Ireland great family fun for all ages. The Maze is planted in the shape of Ireland. Each county is built to scale and has a marker to indicate the county town and river flowing through it.

Rathwood Playground
A fun day out is guaranteed for all kids at our fantastic outdoor playground.The playground has swings and slides to suit children of different ages. It’s conveniently located next to Rathwood’s restaurant. So you can easily pop in and treat yourself to some homemade cakes and delicious coffees while the kids enjoy themselves.
Outdoor seating is also available so you can supervise the kids while relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee.
Rathwood Deer Park
Say hello to our animal Friends with miniature ponies, goats, deer, geese and more .
The Deer Park is one of the favourite activities among the younger visitors and families enjoying a day out at Rathwood. Rathwood’s deer park is home to two different breeds of deer; Fallow deer and Sika deer.
You can also travel on the Rathwood’s Express Train that will take you on a trip across the park and the forest. Rathwood Express Train tickets cost €3 pp and are available at Reception.
Rathwood Showrooms
Visit Rathwood newly decorated furniture showrooms, displaying gorgeous handcrafted pieces and stunning leather sofas.
Rathwood Forest Walk
Take a short stroll to the lake to feed the ducks and geese, or explore the looped ‘Molloy Walk’.
The Rathwood Forest Walks are very easy trails, suitable for walkers of all ages and abilities.
The woodland walks expand over 4km and benches are placed at regular intervals so you can have a rest or simply absorb the tranquility fo the forest.
The woodlands at Rathwood have a rich variety of native trees and flora, as well as wildlife. Deer, mink, rabbits, foxes, pheasants and dragonflies are some of residents and regular visitors to the Rathwood Forest. The Forest Walks are an ideal activity for families that enjoy nature, the outdoors and a bit of fresh air.
The walk trail to the lake is wheelchair accessible.

The Chocolate Garden
The Chocolate Garden is a paradise for chocolate lovers!
Located next door to Rathwood.Popular with all ages, the chocolate garden makes a variety of premium quality chocolate, ice cream, cakes and gift products.
At the chocolate factory, you will get to see how The Chocolate Garden’s delicious chocolates are made and even sample some of them.
The Chocolate garden caters for school trips and group tours.
Chocolate workshops are also available.
