This year the St Patrick Day Festival annual National Lottery Skyfest Firework Display moves to Limerick where it will light up the skies over the majestic treaty city. King John’s Castle provides a stunning backdrop to this year’sbreathtaking fireworks display where dazzling colours and explosive effects will be unleashed over one of Ireland’s most well-known and cherished treasures, the River Shannon.

And all this choreographed to an amazing soundtrack curated by 2FM’s Jenny Greene.

For those taking a trip to Limerick, the city will be in celebration with a full programme of activity for the festival weekend. Pre-show activity, provided by Shannon Development, kicks off from 18.00 and includes live bands, fire jugglers, face painters and much more. As an exciting lead up to the main spectacle St. Patrick’s Festival will present street performance group Arcana who will wow the crowds in their upbeat unique style and open the National Lottery Skyfest in a thunderous spectacular fashion.

Ensuring those at home can share in the celebrations, the show will be broadcast live on RTÉ 1 on Saturday 13 March from 19.30 followed by a special National Lottery Lotto draw live from Limerick City. A pyrotechnic extravaganza not to be missed.
