Wicklows Historic Gaol
Wicklow Gaol is an atmospheric jail museum experience offering visitors a glimpse of life in prisons of the past.
As one of Ireland’s top tourist destinations, Wicklow Gaol tells the story of its prisoners through an interactive tour led by experienced and passionate actor guides.
The original Gaol Dungeon is open since its use over 100 years ago.
Dare you come and experience first hand the harshness of life in the Dungeon, where you will see the punishments being meted out and hear the anguished cries of the prisoners or you could just sit in the solitude cell and feel the desperation of those that were there before you.
The multi-media tour is perfect for families and includes holographic projections of cruel prison guards, lifelike audio from the 1798 rebellion and interaction with the notorious inmates.
Refuel at their charming café or use their picnic area to enjoy your lunch
